Rehab for the elderly

There are a variety of reasons why elderly people require a short stay at a care home. There may be a long waiting list at a preferred retirement or nursing home and an urgently needed care space is not available.

Sometimes, a short-stay with temporary assistance may be needed for a brief convalescence period after a hospital stay.

You, your loved ones or a friend may want to take a vacation but will need assistance during a holiday vacation.

Or as a caregiver, you may need a break from the daily demands and stress caring for an elderly parent or loved one can bring. CAREWELL provides respite care so that you can look after your health and well-being, too.

A short stay may also be a good introduction to; or a way to “test” the care and services provided should you or a loved one be considering long-term care. A planned short-term stay can be an excellent way to assess the care and conditions of a care home you may be considering. We recommend a 3-month assessment (test) stay. This also give us the opportunity to get to know each other and to understand the individual needs and preferences of you or your loved one. It will also provide adequate time which helps everyone to understand the long-term needs, including costs—which are based on individual resident’s or guest’s needs.

Stroke Rehabilitation and Stroke Recovery

At CAREWELL, our rehabilitation center is specialized for stroke rehabilitation and stroke recovery stays. Each stroke patient has individual care and therapy requirements.

In line of our concept of individualized care, at CAREWELL we develop a differentiated therapy plan for each stroke patient. The plan takes into consideration the approach for recovery and defines the intensity, interval and type of physical, speech and ergo therapy.

Same Quality of Care and Access as Long-Term Residents

All of our guests have access to our facilities and are invited and encouraged to share in on our regular activities and programs. Individual preferred activities can also be accommodated. All off-site guest activities are always accompanied by CAREWELL staff.

Our nurses and staff will greet new short-term residents upon their arrival. We get to know each of our guests on both a clinical and personal level so that we can develop a personal plan of care that will provide them with the dedicated care they deserve throughout their stay.

For whatever the reason you or your loved one come to stay with us and for however long—you may even decide to : extend your stay with us—all of our guests receive the same constant 24-hour, high-quality personal care as do our long-term guests.
